Teresa has been a resident of Franklin County since 2003. She lives with her husband Steve, and daughter Julia on their farm outside of Union. Since moving here, Teresa has served as a dedicated volunteer in many organizations throughout Franklin County:
2004 -2005 Teresa was a volunteer at Exceptional Equestrians in Washington where she was voted Volunteer of the Year.
She is currently a Franklin County CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocate where she serves as an advocate for children in Foster Care. She is currently on her fourth case and works closely with the FC Children's Division and the FC Jeuvenile Office.
In 2008, Teresa was elected to serve on the Union R-XI Board of Education. She is currently serving the third year of her first term.
Teresa is a graduate of the inaugural "Leadership Union" group that was formed by the Economic Development Department in Union to educate concerned citizens about the industries and agencies that serve the people of our community.
Teresa has recently signed on to join the "Franklin County Coalition" where she will be responsible to participate and analyze root causes of substance abuse problems in the community as well as participate in the implementation of strategies to achieve community change.
She has been an Election Judge in Beaufort for the past several elections.
She has organized and worked at Voter Registration tables in several area High Schools over the past few years.
Teresa was elected to serve as the Central Committee Woman for Union Township in 2008. She was also elected to the Co-Chair and Secretary positions for the 26th Senatorial District of the State Democratic Party in 2009. She is a member of the FC Democrat Club.
College education includes a Teacher Assistant certificate in the Montessouri method, a certificate from Peirce College in Philadelphia in Telecommunications / Systems Analysis and many college credits in a variety of classes including History, Communications and Science. She is a graduate of the Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life located in St. Louis.
Teresa cares very much for the citizens of Franklin County. She is a devoted volunteer and is focused on working hard to make Franklin County a great place to live and work. She believes in open communication and working together toward a common goal. She is Independent in her political views and believes that all people are basically looking for the same things - health, happiness, safety and a good life. She is dedicated to work to help our community achieve these goals.
